What is life? What is death?

I have watched Sex and the City on HBO. Well, nothing really. It got me thinking if we really will get a set of friends that will be there for us through thick or thin, despite all the differences among our circle of friends as our similarities draw us even closer to each other. I mean, yes, it is a tv show, but it reflects some truth as it must be based on reality…

I just spent half the day delivering shitake mushrooms 6 customers. I then spent the rest of the afternoon watching television (but I did make phone calls to the customer about their orders since we don’t have any more stock of mushrooms and that a shipment was to come tonight, which didn’t but will come on May 1 evening). Then I continued bumming around. Of course, after bumming around I did do something constructive like putting all the delivery receipts for the day into their proper places and counted the money collected from the deliveries today. After this, I went on with watching t.v..

What the hell am I talking or typing about? Am I making any sense? Do I really want to write about this stuff or share what happens to me? It is like I am just sharing nothing new to the world, that the world shouldn’t even know about this.

Help me decide what my current state of mind is, because to tell you the truth, I don’t what I am thinking, who I am as I am thinking, when did I start thinking, where I started thinking, how I started thinking and why I am thinking. Probably I know the answer, but I rather that I don’t and that people point it out to me.

What do you think?

I am glad that I passed all my subjects! =) Yes! I wouldn’t need to use the blank check that my parents issued just in case I needed to pay for summer classes at DLSU. =)

I am really sorry for not blogging for the past week. You’ll know why once you read what I have blogged below. =)

Oh, and before anything happens, this new layout is officially made by Drew. =_) Isn’t he great? =) Let us give him a round of applause! =) (And Drew bows...) I salute you Drew! I still haven’t found the time and the artistic urge to design my webpage myself you see…. =)

And before any of you start reading my LONG blog, especially for those who know, my sunburned skin itched a lot since it started to peel. I can’t sleep easily at night, and I wake up at early dawn….. And I can’t stop peeling the skin, especially those on both arms…..

I spent the whole week handling my sister’s and her boyfriend’s mini vegetable business which sells mostly shitake mushrooms (but there is also enoki mushroom, lotus root, Romaine(?) lettuce, and water chestnut.). It was okay, but my head hurts a lot. This would probably because of the summer heat that I am exposed to when outside after staying in an air-conditioned car. It would take me a whole day just to deliver to a maximum of four customers. I was only able to relax yesterday afternoon and today. The traffic is also a big problem, making travel much more tiring. Usually the customers order a day before, but a lot of the other half of the customers order last minute, right on the minute that they found out that they don’t have any stock of shitake mushrooms anymore. They would usually call whenever I am in the car going from one restaurant to another or when I am on my way home. They tell me that it is really urgent that I deliver, therefore I go out of my way, for example going home through EDSA I have to go back to Chinatown or Roxas Blvd, just to bring them the mushrooms they so badly needed.

My sister had set delivery days on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. She thought that doing so would help the customers to plan their orders ahead of time, therefore orders would come in during Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. But guess what, the customers really do have a mind of their own and they order whenever the need it. Some do follow the T-TH-S delivery days, but boy, some sure don’t. And I really hate it when they call to order just when I am on the way home.

I start the delivery day by going to the warehouse, leaving home by 8 am. I reach the warehouse by 9am. I reach each customer after a one-hour traveling time. The mushrooms are packed into rectangular Styrofoam boxes which can contain 5 kilos of shitake mushroom. The customers usually order 1 kg, 2 kg or 3 kg; this is why we have to repack them and weigh them before we hand them over to the customer. Whenever an order comes in, we write them down on an order slip. We then prepare the Delivery Receipt. Whenever the customer gets their orders, they have to check the weight of the shitake mushrooms before signing the delivery receipt, which states that they received the goods in good condition. After that, we get paid but some wait for another time to pay. If they paid for the mushrooms right away, I stamp a “PAID” on the white-colored delivery receipt, which will be given to the customer, and also on the yellow- and pink-colored delivery receipts, which are duplicates and are kept for reference. If the customers don’t pay yet, we keep all three copies of the delivery receipts, and they get the white one when they pay up. After this, I go to the next customer.

Today, I collected checks from those who haven’t paid up. I have to issue a Provisional Receipt when they hand over the check. At least I did get to relax today, but my head still hurts. What a terrible headache.

I really need not do these deliveries, but my sister and her boyfriend has to attend a seminar on vegetables, I think, at Laguna so they asked (well, it is more like they left it to me since I didn’t have any choice but to take care of their mini business, and to learn how to do the deliveries in just two days, more like a couple of hours. We spent a lot of time driving around from one place to another, with me just dozing off. Hehe =_) )

And I thought this time is supposed to be my summer vacation… But at least I get to do something productive, right guys? =)

Wow! it really feels like a summer vacation although it is not yet officially summer for lasallians since we are going to get the rest of our course cards on friday, and official summer vacation starts on the 22nd.

My left eyelid is way much better today. Thank God! =)

Drew, i am blogging again.... huhuhu..... =)

I can't wait for summer to start, and i can't wait to get hold of my course cards so that i can start letting go of this fear of failing the subjects i took this term when i think of the possibility of me passing them all. Drew, you really think that i will pas, right? right? right? ( and this question will go on until the nth time).

Ah...... =) Life. I have been just watching tv for the rest of the week. you are all viewing the entries of an official tv addict. =) And guess what, i am so addicted to it that i don't do anything except lounge at the sofa, watching tv as i eat snacks, dinner..... (And i thought i am going to lose some more pounds.... just when i started losing pounds, i start gaining them back again..... i hope that this bad habit doesn't continue). I know GRace! exercise! (but i don't want to exercise, the fact that my left knee still hurts from the second time this left knee got injured. The first injury happened when i was still in 4th year high school during 1999. the second injury happened during my second term, second year in college, on Oct. 25, 2001.) So, you must still do something about losing weight.... ( oh i will.... why don't i just stay home and keep myself in an unventilated room so that i will sweat to death? nah.... too morbid..... what else can i do? go to a sauna? nah... will probably just pass out, even for a girl my size....)

oh well, that's all for now..... i should be sleeping or else i will be waking up by noon (well, i do wake up by noon).

YOu have just read the "grace is crazy" blog for today. =) Thank you! =)

April 14, 2002 Sunday 10:08pm

You know what? I had an eyelid infection since Friday, april 12, 2002. It was really starting to swell during that time. I already suffered from such infection due to my rubbing my eye, and I was cured by applying hot water compress over the affected eyelid. Well, I thought that I was suffering the same affliction so I went on and put a hot water compress on it. The next day, my left eyelid was much more swollen. I wasn’t even able to see much with my left eye. I didn’t want to go to the doctor, but I can’t live like that for the rest of the summer, so I went to see the doctor.

I told the doctor that the same eyelid had an infection, stye it was called. He told me that what I am experiencing now was much more worst than stye. He said it was an infection caused by pollution. Well, come to think of it, my hands are always dirty but this is the second time that an infection of such proportions happened to me. And it hit me, it was the construction that was going on near the Computer Science Bldg., Gokongwei, that was contributing to such pollution. Every day, dirt and piles of dirt (if you are to observe it day in and day out) goes into the bldg through the gallery, where there are some open areas, and through the front entrance with the help of the strong gust of wind. Too much dirt gets into the building that my laptop can attest to it. There was a time when we needed to work on a group project and I was asked to bring my laptop along. I was sitting well in the middle of the lobby, far enough from the building entrance. But my laptop’s touchpad gets dirt on it, and when I was on my way home, I saw that my screen is covered with dirt that whenever I wipe it with tissue, dirt comes off the screen with the tissue. I guess you should believe me by now about what I think is the source of my current affliction, of the “pollution” that caused this “infection”.

But anyway, the doctor gave me antibiotic eyedrops and some antibiotic tablets. My eyes were really swollen yesterday, but after starting medication, the swell went down a little. Right now, it is not that painful whenever I open my eyelids. And I am thankful for that. When I woke up today, I wasn’t even able to open my left eye because there was this dried fluid excretion that prevented me from opening my left eye completely. I had to get some cotton buds to wipe off crusty dried fluid. But I am really glad that I can open my eyes now, to move it around without experiencing too much pain.

Anyway, I might have exaggerated about this “infection”, by giving it the pleasure of mentioning the whole experience in a journal entry of three paragraphs. =)
